Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Dear Families

Jonathan Terry Funeral Directors have been serving the community since 1998 and we strongly stand ready to help you now. We will stay open, where the team and myself will continue to assist you at this most difficult time.

Health and Safety

We want to assure you that the team is taking proactive measures to help prevent the spread of any potential illness. Our strict protocols cover, amongst other things, hand-washing hygiene, cleaning products, use of safety equipment and common area cleaning procedures.

We ask those who are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath or have been in contact with anyone suspected of being affected or have recently travelled to any of the affected countries to refrain from visiting Jonathan Terry Funeral Directors at this time.

If you are feeling unwell and feel you may pose a risk by attending a funeral, we would advise you to follow the NHS guidelines, which can be found here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-advice/

For those who wish to visit us

Whilst the Covid-19 virus requires all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities, rest assured that our funeral home is as clean and safe as we can make it.

Please phone us prior to visiting to make an appointment, to reduce waiting times and contact with other families. We advise a maximum of two representatives from the family is present at an office meeting.

Making funeral arrangements and Pre-Paid funeral planning

If you have recently lost a loved one, or wish to discuss a pre-arrangement, we are here for you. If you are unable to plan arrangements in person due to travel restrictions, health concerns or any other reason, our dedicated team can help you make the arrangements remotely via telephone or e-mail, Skype or Facetime.

All documents can be scanned and sent via email or hand delivered. Every situation can and will be accommodated.

The Funeral Service

Funerals are important. They create a lasting memory and no matter how small a gathering they will be personal and meaningful and help with the beginning of the healing process.

If you are feeling unwell or are self-isolating, there is no need to miss out on paying your respects at the funeral as there are facilities at the crematoriums to connect to the service via the internet or for a recording to be made. We also offer our personal remembrance page on our website where family and friends can share messages and memories.

Losing a family member or friend is never easy. We are aware that these unsettling times can amplify feelings of grief and anxiety. Please know that we are here for anything and everything that you need in order to honour your loved-one.
